The seasonal influenza vaccine is available at no cost to New Brunswick residents.
Harrisville Pharmacy provides flu vaccination for eligible patients 5 years of age and older.
Pneumococcal vaccine is not an annual vaccine.
At Harrisville Pharmacy, publicly funded Prevnar 20 may be available for eligible New Brunswick residents 65 years and older, depending on previous pneumococcal vaccine history.
Some people with higher-risk medical conditions may be eligible through another healthcare pathway but may not be eligible to receive publicly funded Prevnar 20 at a community pharmacy.
Your pharmacist will review your vaccine history and eligibility before proceeding.
Cost and Access:
The pneumonia vaccine is free for New Brunswick residents aged 65 and older. If you’re younger and at risk, ask your pharmacy team whether you qualify or if you should consider vaccination.

Protection from childhood vaccines can wear off over time. Getting a Tdap booster as an adult helps protect not only you but also vulnerable people around you—especially infants who are too young to be fully vaccinated.

The MMR vaccine protects against three highly contagious viral diseases:
These diseases are spread easily through coughing, sneezing, or close contact and can cause outbreaks if vaccination rates are low.
Why get vaccinated?
The MMR vaccine is safe and effective at preventing all three diseases. Two documented doses provide long-lasting protection. In addition to protecting yourself, getting vaccinated helps protect vulnerable people around you—including pregnant individuals, infants, and those with weakened immune systems.

The HPV vaccine is safe, effective, and the only vaccine proven to prevent cancer. It protects against the most dangerous strains of the virus and can help reduce the risk of developing HPV-related diseases later in life.

Shingles is a painful skin rash caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus—the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you recover from chickenpox, the virus stays in your body and can reactivate later in life, especially if your immune system is weakened.
What does shingles feel like?
Shingles typically causes a blistering rash on one side of the body, often accompanied by burning, itching, or sharp pain. Even after the rash heals, some people experience long-term nerve pain (postherpetic neuralgia), which can be severe and debilitating. If the rash affects the face or eyes, it may lead to vision loss or other complications.

Meningitis B is a serious infection caused by Neisseria meningitidis bacteria. It can lead to inflammation of the brain and spinal cord (meningitis), blood infections (sepsis), and in severe cases, death—often within hours if left untreated.

Even though meningitis B is rare, it can progress rapidly and has a high risk of serious complications. The vaccine provides important protection for people at increased risk.

The Meningitis B vaccine is not part of New Brunswick’s Routine Immunization Schedule, but may be recommended in higher-risk situations. Some private insurance plans may help cover the cost. Talk to our pharmacy team to see if it’s right for you.
