Compression stockings from trusted brands including Medi®, Sigvaris®, and Jobst®

Compression stockings are designed to apply graduated pressure to support circulation and help manage leg swelling, including swollen ankles and feet.

We carry a selection of 15–20 mmHg compression socks in-store, available in a range of sizes and styles for everyday use and general circulation support. These are commonly used during travel to help promote circulation during extended periods of sitting.

We carry a limited in-store selection of unisex 20–30 mmHg compression stockings, available in both knee-high and thigh-high options, for situations where compression is needed without delay. These are intended as a practical option when there isn’t time to wait for a special order.

Compression stockings are available in a variety of lengths and styles, including:

  • Knee-high stockings
  • Thigh-high stockings
  • Pantyhose styles, including maternity options

Knee-high and thigh-high styles are available in both men’s and women’s fits, depending on the product selected.

Compression levels of 20 mmHg and higher are considered medical-grade and typically require a prescription. Our team can assist with product selection once appropriate documentation is in place.

All other compression stockings are special order, allowing us to select from a wider range of products from trusted brands including Medi®, Sigvaris®, and Jobst®. This includes access to different:

  • Compression levels
  • Styles and materials
  • Sizes and custom options

This approach helps ensure a more accurate and comfortable fit when higher levels of compression or more specific products are required.

Flat Knit & Round Knit Compression

Compression garments are available in different knit styles, depending on the condition being managed.

  • Round knit compression is typically used for general circulation support and common conditions such as varicose veins or mild to moderate swelling
  • Flat knit compression is often used for more complex or long-term swelling, including lymphedema, and provides a more structured fit

Product selection is guided by individual needs and, when applicable, healthcare recommendations.

Custom Compression Garments

In some cases, standard compression stockings, even when properly measured, may not provide an adequate fit.

For individuals with significant swelling, irregular limb shape, or more complex conditions such as advanced lymphedema, custom compression garments may be required.

These garments are made to measure using a more detailed set of measurements to ensure appropriate fit and compression.

At Harrisville Pharmacy, we can assess whether a custom garment may be appropriate and coordinate ordering through our supplier partners when needed.

Appointments are required.

Non-Elastic Compression Wraps

Non-elastic compression wraps are an adjustable alternative to traditional compression stockings. These wraps:

  • Allow for adjustable compression throughout the day
  • May be easier to apply and remove
  • Are often used in the management of lymphedema or fluctuating swelling

Wrap systems are available by special order and are selected based on individual measurements and needs.

Measurement & Appointments

Compression fittings are provided through one-on-one appointments with our Home Health & Wellness team. This includes compression stocking fittings based on individual measurements.

Measurements are an important part of ensuring proper fit and effectiveness. For individuals experiencing swelling that increases throughout the day, morning appointments are preferred, as measurements are typically most accurate earlier in the day.

We are happy to accommodate other appointment times when needed.

Appointments are strongly recommended to allow adequate time for assessment, product selection, and ordering.
