The Fall COVID vaccine, using the newest version of the vaccine, is now available for everyone.
We are currently making appointments for anyone 5 years and older who would like to receive the vaccine.
The annual flu vaccine will be available for everyone starting on Tuesday, 15 October. This year we are offering 3 different flu vaccines for anyone 5 years and older who wishes to receive one:
Did you know that it is recommended to receive the pneumonia vaccine when you reach 65 years of age?
If you are 65 and above and have not yet received a pneumonia shot you can book an appointment and one of our pharmacists can give you one.
The pneumonia vaccine is provided at no charge to individuals 65 years of age and older.
Publicly-funded tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine is available for eligible individuals who can receive a dose at no charge, if they meet the following criteria:
Individuals who are not eligible for a publicly-funded Tdap vaccine can still receive the vaccine, see a pharmacy team member for pricing.
** Note that the tetanus vaccine is intended for those who are due for a booster dose and NOT intended for treatment after an injury. If you have had an injury you should seek medical attention from the Emergency Room.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common respiratory virus that causes infections of the respiratory tract and follows an annual seasonal pattern. RSV infection can have severe complications for infants and older adults, including hospitalization, intensive care unit admission, and death. The risk of severe RSV infection increases with age and with certain medical conditions.
RSV immunization is recommended for:
RSV immunization may be considered as an individual decision for adults 60 to 74 years of age in consultation with their health care provider.
RSV immunization is also recommended for expectant mothers in advance of or during the RSV season who are 32 to 36 weeks gestation to allow time for the development of an immune response and passive antibody transfer to the fetus before birth. The vaccine must be given 2 weeks before birth in order to be effective.
